3-D Fun

   As a boy in the 1950s I was fascinated with 3-D comics and movies. Most of the comics were “monochrome” or “black and white”. Actually they were printed in red and blue, but viewing them through the anaglyphic (red and blue) “glasses” (cellophane in cardboard frames) produced a monochrome effect.

   The e-book 3-D Fun! Drawing with MS Word™ and Simple 3-D Imaging is the result of revisiting old memories of comics, movies and antique "stereographs". I thought that there might be others who would enjoy 3-D as much as I have. If fact there is a wealth of information on the web about 3-D. Some interesting links are in the book and of course you can find many sites using your favorite search engine.

In the book we talk a little about the principles of 3-D Visual perception and drawing (Which also applies to photography.)   Then we’ll read a bit about the history of 3-D and stereographs. Finally we’ll explain the principles and techniques of creating 3-D images using Microsoft Word ™ or any WYSIWYG (“What you see is what you get”) editor or drawing tool.

   Then we look at some great freeware that will allow you to convert vintage stereographs or your own photos to 3-D. Nothing too technical or “geeky” but enough to start having fun with 3-D. Click on "Preview the e-book" and if you like it please download a copy.
